Olli not cocking his leg

Olli is 9 months old, and is not yet cocking his leg properly when he relieves himself. He will sometimes partially lift his leg, but the majority of times he will urinate wih both back legs firmly fixed to the ground

I have even found myself lifting his leg, in attempt to show him how it should be done.

Should I be worried, or his he just a lazy GSD

I wouldn't worry too much, it just takes some longer to do it than others! Although some males will never really cock their legs, but it isn't anything to worry about!

Harley is 2 and doesn't cock his leg. He will sometimes cock it on a walk, but not as often as standing "positioned" for the job.

Braeden started cocking his leg at 10mnths, but sometimes he`ll still squat, I think that`s when he is bursting and he knows he`s going to be peeing for a while

My Lukey at 4 squats in the garden - perhaps it takes less effort

on a walk he cocks his leg presumably to get a good aim when he marks.

Occasionally in the garden he will lift his leg. Beyond our back wall is a little green belt and I think he lifts his leg if he doesn't like or know the dogs on the other side which bless him he doesn't bark at or anything.

Bet your Olli was thinking 'now what, is this a new game'.

I think my springer girlie occasionally lifted her leg and I was quite shocked

They could just be getting in touch with 'their feminine side'

Went out this morning, and we had a combi going on. He started with the squat, then moved onto a cocked leg, and finished in a squat

Oh well it looks like theirs nothing to worry about.
