Mekuti Harness

I got Lukey one of these a couple of months ago but just got round to trying it out again.

Do you or have you used one for your dog.

In the size he needs (XL) they only come in black and and on a black long coat you can imagine trying to get it on and position it isn't easy as the black webbing just sinks into coat and 'disappears'.

Took him for a short walk then came back and readjusted the straps. So far so good. Just wondered if anyone else used one. It's a harness that has two points of attachment one high up on the back and one at the side of the body and is used with a long double ended lead.

Feeling more positive about walking him without risk of my back going

Hi Linda,
I haven't heard of these before so am very interested to see what people think as I've just been dragged round the block by Lola! I felt bad about the Gencon so am just using a flat collar and I know she is young but she is so so strong that I worry about my back too

I bought this before I had heard of the Gencon.

I had noticed that dogs on harnesses often seem to be 'non-pullers' which made me look at this. The initial results are promising. Lukey is a 4 yr old male with plenty of power - I think they all have really.

Since coming back I have made some adjustments to the length of the straps as I think positioning of the harness so it is central on the body is important and I hadn't quite got it right with all that black fur hiding it.

It is quite expensive esp if you need to buy a double ended lead as well.

My husband had tried a halti and something similar which Lukey didn't like and it they only had a temporary halting affect so he went back to a semi check.

Anyhow I will let you know how it goes. Be interesting to see if anyone else uses or has used one.
