Xen is now being fed a raw diet.

Well after alot of consideration, and trials of food (again thank you Tracy!) we have decided to put him on raw. He is loving every minute of it, poo's seem to have stayed solid and not to many, so we think this is the way to go.

It has been a long process! He has turned his nose up at so many foods, I have taken people's advice, picked it up after 10 minutes, put it down again at tea time, didn't make any difference whatsoever, Xen lost a fair bit of weight, as he wasn't eating anywhere near what he should be, basically he'd shrinked his tummy (from what I believe) so he didn't need what we expected (or having what he truly needed!) the recent photo's of him (beach photo's) don't truly show what he had lost, so we decided a change was in order and he is taking to the raw feed VERY well I have brought some frozen beef, lamb and chicken from Kennelgate today, defrosted two lots, he loved it! So pleased

Thats really good to hear, not all dogs take to a raw diet, but for those that do, I think it is the better way to go,.. just watch the weight, and add or take away when nessersary, you will find you will not need as much bulk as before,..[ not after he gets to his correct weight ]

Thanks Stuart. We got to a stage where panic set in, Xen just would not touch any biscuit, soaked or not! I admit, this was possibly all down to him tasting our food a few weeks ago, things didn't improve though! But now on raw, he's improving! Never known a dog refuse food for so long though!

This is the exact reason we put Jess on raw. She starved herself for 5 days, when I wouldn't let her carry on anymore, so I relented and tried chicken wings, and nearly 3 years later, haven't looked back once

Remus refuses 'pellets'. After his op the vets tried a few different foods to tempt him - he refused and held out for minced beef!

Zee will eat anything!
