Dogs Christmas Presents

What do you all spend on them?
Just left the petshop £50 lighter! Must be mad, squeeky toys, chews, treats etc.
The Mrs will wrap them for him too! Loves seeing him rip them open

I made the mistake a couple of years ago of leaving a present under the tree for my great dane one Christmas Eve.

I got up christmas morning to find she had ripped into MOST of OUR presents trying to find it.

She had eaten 2 selection boxes, managed to rip open anything else ediable (cheeseboard and a nut selection) tore through the wrapping and boxes of several other presents, attempted to eat a bottle of Lynx bodywash and spent the rest of the day being sick.

Add to that the fact that she had picked all the chocolate decorations off the tree itself she wasn't my favourite creature that day i can tell you!!!

I think it is very important that dogs learn to play,.. but I would never pay out a lot.

Ok, when we go somewhere big enough, we will often buy a new toy,.. but dogs will often play more with something that you make up for free

Two of the best toys that Kee and Sam play with, are stuffed old socks,..and a length of rope with knots tied into it

and they tend to last a lot longer

My Jazz doesnt play, and never has done since we have had her, so I know how much play makes a difference

I get mine gifts too, I wrap the dogs prezzies but not the cats lol. Cost wise it varies...I don't buy a great deal as they are pretty spoiled all year round.

Our late Dalmation was the same lol, chocs had been going *missing* off the tree for years (I only put them on the top half of the tree as I assumed they would be out of his reach) I thought my son had been munching them till I walked in and caught the dog in the act....standing up on his back legs so he could reach lol.

........ So far....... I have bought a new bed for each, new collars and some toys.

I am contemplating buying some tasties, but tbh they will probably prefer to tuck into a meaty bone than the pet shop treats.

sorry but both those stories made me laugh, we think they are so innocent and do no wrong, yet behind our back they are sneaky food thieves! If they think they can get away with something they will try their best
