and so it begins.....
So skye's first season started last week and the first prowler dog has arrived sniffing at her area outside.......
It has been stalking her area for almost an hour and i daren't put them out!
I really thought titon would shoo them away but so far he is just lay listening to it's chain dragging round the patio. Skye is going barmy, barking and pacing.
Go away sniffer dawg!!

Believe me,.. there is no way the dog [ or any male dog] will leave on its own, no matter what you do.
....and I would be a little wary of trying to shooo away a strange male dog who has the scent anyway

I'm still in the kitchen.......just waiting, on my third cup of coffee
I wasn't sure how it would react to my presence, whether skye would shoot out the door as soon as i tried to get out, i do not want to take titon out as they are more than likely going to fight.
Ah i do have some bitch spray i could use.....or is it too late for that?

I am not sure about the spray, but I would guess its too late as the scent is well in the air now,.. but no harm in trying it.
I take it that you cant shut off an area outside at all
I see that someone has voted to shoo away the dog,.. well maybe you could, but there is no way it, or other male dogs will stay away,..as soon as your back is turned,..or you go out with your dog, they will be back

Am I reading this right? Some random dog is hanging about outside your house without an owner? If yes I would go and see if had a collar and tag and if so call them and ask them to come get it. If not, call the dog warden and get it removed, they can scan it for a chip etc

Not really, as we are on a farm it's just dry stone walls which they can both jump over and then into fields....
I'v given a dose of the spray and going to have another peek outside in a sec. I just want them to have a quick toilet run before i even attempt to get them into the van for our walk which is now well overdue... I'l see how close to the back door i can reverse it up

Yes you read it correctly.... it's definitely looks an outside dog, with a broken chain hanging from it's neck, and it looks blind
His eyes look like.......well dead cloudy and an off white colour. Right i'm going for it.....

Ok so this dog must have had the fear of god thrown up it when i went outside because it has legged it over the walls and run off into the distance, from what i saw it is underweight and definitely deaf and on it's way to being blind
I went out and did my rah oof shoo routine and it didn't move just stood sniffing, i was cautious as to get too close so i shook the food bag and still no response, so i rolled a toy to just under his face he spun round to try and look at me and then off he ran.....
I'v called the neighbour which is approx half a mile away and they say they know who's it is and will go out looking for him. I asked them if they knew how long he had been missing because he needed a bloody good meal inside him and a vet to check him over, apparently the owners use him as a guard dog chained up outside with a dustbin as a bed

Oh no. Some people are such sh*ts. Poor old dog :-( I don't know what to suggest. Maybe he turned up at yours looking for food rather than to get at Skye :-( Would be really handy if your neighbour found him and delivered him to the vet rather than ringing the cr*p owner so he might actually get some of what he needs

I have left a bowl of biscuits outside incase he comes back
It makes me sick
I think he was after Skye though as she had stripped a rib cage last night for her dinner and left the bones, but he didn't seem interested in that this morning :/
