Poor girl, I can see why she'd be so traumatised.
But I'm one of those people who doesn't think a dog will suddenly become vicious. There must have been a trigger, either food posessiveness, or illness etc.

No, it won't. And let's face it, they love to hate the GSD!

Am I the only one hoping that the '9 days old' is a typo?!

How awful.
It sounds as though she has made a good recovery and is a very brave girl indeed.
I would have been tempted to have a PM done on a dog that "suddenly" turned like that. However, there is usually more to the story than the papers tell us and this attack could have been triggered by a number of things!

The trouble with these types of stories, is that you can never really know the whole set of events from the artical... as with most newpaper articals what is written is worded to sell, but not nesersarly the whole facts
Pleased that all is well with the girl though,..and very pleased that she seems to still have a love for the other dog

Don't think the nine days is a mistake as they mention it again further down.
Plus they still have the litter brother to the dog!!!
"Mrs Manson said they also adopted his brother, Bracken, who has never behaved aggressively.
She said: 'The attack was so vicious, it even traumatised Bracken. He cowered in the corner and wouldn’t come out for days.
'We’ve had them since they were nine days old, you just do not expect that to happen from a friendly dog.'"
I hope they get the brother dog checked out by a vet.
