Oh right, what a good technique, thanks for that Stuart.

I have a couple of names I like, but still not 100% on any of them, so let me know what you think..

Seven (because it was exactly 7 days he had been 'rehomed' for before he was back on my door step)

Chance (well I don't need to explain that one)

and,

Reuben (just because I like it!)

Any other name suggestions would be great!

How about Hope. Hopefully he won't be fostered out again.

I think Storm had been through quite a few changes over the past few weeks that a name change might confuse him further. Maybe change his name once you have him back living with you.

He will accept a name change as long as your consistent, however I'm still confused! You've only had him a few weeks and had to foster him out he's now in his second foster home youve found him which is great youve taken the time to get him fostered out but dont you think before thinking about name changes getting a stable home where he's not moved from pillar to post all the time is more important?. I don't normally post on things like this but a dogs a huge responsibility and getting one then having to foster it a matter of weeks later is not a good situation I don't claim to know anything about your situation however I do hope you realise how much this dog will be depending on you to look after it for basic walking/exercise for at least an hour a day every day regardless of weather, feeding, and a roof over its head, to vet care for routine and non routine stuff! I don't mean to patronise however I can't help but be concerned and I apologise if I upset you but sometimes you have to say what you thing especially if it is in behalf of something that cannot speak up for itself.

I would also agree with JC,.. if Storm is away being fostered it doesnt really matter what his name is right now,...so as suggested, wouldnt it be better to wait untill later,..it will be as easy then to change as now

A German Shepherd is a big responsibility, and any owner has to be willing to put a great deal of him/herself into the well being of the dog, all thoughts must be for the well being of the dog

Can I ask,.. do you think that you are doing the best for your dog?,... remember that Storm is still your dog

If I had my way, Storm would be here with me, and by all means I'd wait until he was back with me before I change his name. I understand the responsibility and I have owned dogs all my life, from poodles, to greyhounds to shepherds.

Storm is settled in his new home and will be there for as long as it might be, as long as he's happy I'm happy.

Agree. I dont know the situation either, but not liking his current name sounds like it should be the bottom of your priority list to me, sorry. Hope he settles down somewhere where he is going to live permanently and be well looked after.
