Erich had poor temperment along with his sire and grsire at that time the breed was still developing and due to increase in size the standard was ammended the original upper limits were 50-55cm for females and 55-60cm for males as many of the old races still are and were before the crossing of different types.

Out of interest, how much of the dogs' temperment is due to their breeding and how much due to their current environment and human family? I confess that I have struggled quite a bit with my girl and expect it is mostly my fault (inexperience).

Thank you Pam. I wondered where some of Abi's behaviour stemmed from... some of it I don't like or even understand.

Its amazing how many personality quirks my little Antilly shares with her father, even though they had totally different upbringings to eachother.

I tried to bring Anti up almost as a pampered pet in my house for the first few months of her life whereas Kai was always kept as a working dog in a kennel.

Even though she had a soft, cuddly upbringing in comparison to her dad, she's still got the same temper, the same high defence - low food and prey drives, same calm indifferent attitude towards other dogs, the same independent nature, total disregard for cuddles, the same posture and peculiar way of doing things.

She is like a clone. The rest of the litter are more a balance of the two parents but she is 100% Kai.

When they're in kennels next to eachother its hard to tell them apart now.
