What to say?
Earlier in the park, a known DA (or if not DA, it certainly has problems with other dogs) dog bit Jess and left a puncture wound in her side, resulting in a nearly £90 vets fee.
I didn't realise she'd been bitten (she didn't yelp) until I got home, so didn't have chance to speak to the owner there and then (this is the second time it's had a go at Jess, the first time knocking her over and injuring her already bad hips).
So... I'm going to the park (she happens to go there the same time as me and I see her pretty much every time I go) tomorrow to collar her about it.
But... What do I say?
I would like her to pay all, or if not, contribute towards the vet bills, but, I want her name and address so I can report her to the dog warden.
I have taken a picture of Jess's side, and have the receipt from the vets to show her, but how do I go about it?
Help please

Might be worth your while phoning the dog warden beforehand and speak to them about it, maybe they could meet you at the park and see this woman with you!

Similar happened to me a few months ago. JL was attacked by 2 GR's when he was on lead minding his own business resulting in a nasty bite in his inner ear costing £60. Owners were totally blase about it, they were miles away and had no clue what their dogs were doing. Though I'm not sure what they would have said had they seen me smacking the cr*p out of one of their dogs with a fence post BUT 2 on one isn't fair. Was a right nightmare. I had to subdue one by beating it so JL could overcome the other one and eventually pin and hold it til they decided to appear. So........... I complained to the police about it as IMO 2 massive (they were the working type retrievers) out of control dogs who are DA in a public place is bloody dangerous. Suprise suprise police did nothing, referred me to a PCSO who rang me and said she could do nothing either. Hope you have better luck than me.

Jen get close to dog + get address details from ID tag if you can
Did anyone else see?
Anyone else who walks regularly there who's also had probs?
Good idea L, but you need to do this quick, police may be quicker if you explain it just happened, + blag about the dog being dangerous in a park full of children blah blah
If nothing comes of this, next time take a vid with your phone mate, anything I can do you know where I am

What a horrible experience for you and poor Jess. I hope she recovers and isnt too traumatised by the incident. Fingers crossed that the owner will be reasonable about it. All the best. x

Jess is slightly better today and we went on a walk with a couple of dogs she knows and she was a little wary to begin with, but was fine then.
I collared the dogs' owner this morning and she denied everything and insisted that her dogs were friendly (as they went and tried to attack a dog that defended itself). She's aparently been reported to the Police, the DW, and the RSPCA before, and nothing's ever been done. We found out where she lived (got pointed in the right direction then did some asking around neighbours), and I have now reported her to the Police and the Dog Warden.
I am awaiting response from both (have had an acknowledgment of e-mail from the Police saying they've passed it on to the appropriate team), and have done it over e-mail so I have written proof.
The woman owns two houses that are next to each other, and the dogs live in one, and she lives in the other. I don't think she's all there mentally as she told us to contact the police helicopters as they're setting her up?! She shouldn't be letting the dogs act in the manner that they are though. It's ridiculous.
I hope something will finally be done about her instead of just being swept under the carpet.
Thanks for your support guys.
I'm taking Jess to training tomorrow (it's meant to be Harley's turn) just to get her round dogs to try and heal her mentally quicker - we'll get there though - we've been in this position before with a few dog attacks, and each time it's taken slightly longer than the last, but she's got there

The owner sounds totally irresponsible, I hope that the police or DW take some action to sort her out. It sounds like it's only a matter of time before somebody's dog gets seriously injured.
I hope Jess's training session goes okay, poor girl must have got such a fright. x
