Rummy Update include a Picture
Hi Everyone
Well the pain management is working and Rummy was very insistent on going for a walk with the others this morning  He's still a little stiff but not as bad as Friday.I've given him a hydrobath as he still stunk of pound  but he also has very dry fur so am giving him sardines in oil to help improve his coat. Any other suggestions will be gratefully received I found out today that Rummy has been in the pound as the guard dog since he was 2. He's now 11. In that time he's rarely left the pound and never lived in a home. He is a real gentleman and meeted and greeted everyone at the park today getting lots of pats. I'm going to try and give him lots of different experiences so he can see what it's like to be a beloved family pet. Here's a photo I took today....

I think this thread and you are amazing!
I really take my hat off to people willing to give an older dog a loving home so thumbs up from me and i wish you all the best with Rummy and his training I used to give titon cod liver oil or primrose oil tablets for his coat but i think what you are giving will work just as well Such a sad life to lead for this poor chap, but now he has a home with you i'm sure you will both be very happy xx

Thank you I'm a but of a softie with the seniors. I previously adopted Harry at 13 and he was with me for 16 months before going to the bridge.

I felt so choked reading about Rummy, how sad that he's spent so much of his life in the pound, I am so glad he's found his way to you Lisa cos now he'll have a great life.....are you keeping him or waiting for a forever home for him?
