Warning to all dog walkers

I was out walking Storm this lunchtime with my sister, just around the estate where we live in Prestatyn, when a man approached us. He was asking all sorts of questions about where we got the dog from, does it have brothers or sisters etc. Some of the questions were really odd and weird. He asked us if he could take the lead and walk her, for which my sister said NO obviously. We then got home and spoke to our dad who advised us to telephone the Police who are coming to see us in the week, as we know where this man lives. The Police said that this is not the first incident that has been reported. The man said that he wanted a nasty dog and that he didn't mind if our dog goes for him, which we thought was very strange. Not sure if this has happened to anybody else on the forum.

That could not have been nice for you both, and you did the right thing by informing the Police!

Having met loads of people on our walks I don`t mind answering a few questions but I am always wary of people that ask too many, how much I paid for her, if she has been spayed and other really in depth questions, just sends alarm bells ringing.

Dog napping is on the increase I read recently and these dogs are obviously used as breeding machines and pups as you know sell for a small fortune!

Recently I noticed two young lads hanging around down the road early one morning and when they saw me they headed off in the direction of my usual walk, I don`t mind being attacked but no one is taking my dog! We went the other way instead and im fortunate to have a choice of which way walk.

How peculiar. I think it's a wise move to tell the police. I wonder if it was the same guy who has been reported before. Sounds like a weirdo. Glad nothing more sinister happened. Take care. x

Sounds like a proper nut job! Its scary and wierd, but my first thoughts were that thats that, hes a wierdo and probably not all there. I just think if anyone was going to try and steal a dog they would be a bit more discreet about it and target dogs alone in a garden etc. Could be totally wrong, but thats my point of view. Like someone else just said you'd like to hope no one actually lets him 'have a hold'.

Theres some village idiots every where. Theres one near me that.was living.in.a tent on the fields, he used to bark at the dogs. Half of me wanted them to play fetch with his balls.

I am a little anxious about going out on my own with the dogs now, so I always make sure somebody else is with me, which sounds stupid, as it's a quiet estate that I live on. I will let you know what the Police say when they come to see us on Thursday.
