Lexis in getting spayed. Just had a phone call of them

Hi everyone not been able to get on here due to dodgy laptop in for repair so managed to get on on my phone but its hard work so i apologise in advance for all the typing errors.
Just wanted to post that lexis gone in to be spayed today, going to be an expensive day i think. £190 for spayed, £45 for a blood test to make sure she will be ok under anaesthetic and theyve just phoned me up saying we have noticed an ambullical (sorry no idea how u spell that) hernia that we strongly advise you have removed today whilst she is under. Thats another £60. Im skint now! lol. When we got lexi the breeder did point out her hernia and made us aware of it but said it wont cause any problems and.alot of the time they just dissapear. So i said to the vet well if its for medical reasons then do it but.if its just to remove the lump and makes no difference to her health dont bother but she.talked me into having.it done and said it could cause problems later on.
So if thats the.case.im glad they phoned to ask coz i wouldnt have took her to have it done done otherwise unless there was a problem.
Anyway ive got to wait till 3 pm now before i phone and.see how shes.doing, dropped hwr off at 9 its.dragged all day worried like mad.

Awwwww Mike she'll be fine mate, I know how the time drags, make the most of the peace

Not convinced the blood tests were needed but it makes sense to have the hernia sorted while she's under

Try not to worry although I know you can't help it, + let us know how she is when you get her home

xxx

Let us know how she is. I'm sure she will be fine but sore but they do usually recover quickly.

Hi,

I know just how you feel as my Sky was Spayed 10 days ago, it was such a long day waiting to get her home again, and then she just wouldn't eat after being sick on the 2nd day but she is fine now. Just need to get the stitches out on Wednesday and we can then get back to 'normal' life.

I am sure all will be well with Lexis and it is worth having it done for their health as much as we hate it!! Keep us updated. xx

sami is a jewel in the rough
Hope she is back soon and fine.

Keeping her calm for the next few days will be the big ask.

Lexi will be fine Mike. My Diva was spayed last September and also had an umbilical hernia removed at the same time, the scar took longer to heal because of the hernia but she got the all-clear from the vet a few weeks after the op and now 4 months down the line you can not see any evidence that she ever had one!

Lexi should be a bit groggy when you get her home tonight but she should be back to her bouncy self tomorrow; thats when the hard part starts coz you have to restrict their exercise for about 10 days and they dont feel sick so they can get very hyper

Good luck and let us know how Lexi is.
