Stumblewood is on a distinguished road
Hi, Koby’s 5 months and walks nicely on collar and lead until we meet people, then the excitement kicks in (we have a boarding school in the village and often meet the pupils on walks and as he’s so young, they get excited to see him and vice versa). Training is on-going, but to stop the pulling and save his neck, I use the Premier Easy Walk harness which has a martingale loop (leads from the chest).

Using the head collar from a very early age meant that I never had to 'correct' him and he learned where he should be without any effort or much 'training' from me.

He liked wearing it because he did not know any different and putting it on became just like putting a collar on - it meant 'walkies', so he welcomed it.

People always stopped me and asked how I had managed to get him to walk so politely on a lead.

Didn't you feel that you'd missed out on the training though? For me that's part of forming our bond + doing stuff together. I can see why people use them, but they're no substitute for getting up + doing some training with your dog

Not that I'm suggesting you never did any training, I wouldn't dare

Just curious
