Stuarts Q

Pam. I heard or read from somewhere, and please dont ask me where because I honestly cant remember, that long haired dogs were under consideration for inclusion into the standard,.. is this true?, would you like that?,.. I ask because when you see a dog like Ringo, you can clearly see that the dog has breeding, and ofcourse you can get the odd long haired dog being thrown up from good short haired breeders, so those would also have the good pedigree to go with them.

I would be interested in your views

I think you will find in the UK standard that it states 'no hard and fast rule for length of hair', but in Germany they will now register a LC if from 2 standard coats - they will not register progeny from LC to LC matings even if both parents are SV registered, but again as you know when a dog has a full moult it looses the undercoat so how can you tell if the LC being presented at a show as an undercoat or not. LCs have always been allowed to be shown in the UK but has it is a fault they would not get placed unless all the other dogs had serious faults.
If you breed for one trait constantly then you loose other ie sex differentials in the head.

if this question as arose from JCs pm's to you and vice versa dont fall into their traps! they are constantly trying to undermine me and I will not play their little games!
