Fantastic videos Ash. I think they prove to show just how much work goes into training a Schutzhund dog - and every protection dog should have equally as much training in obedience and control as yours. Fabulous viewing, thanks. (Love the music choices too )

Ditto, thanks Ash!

But there you have it. A well trained dog. Look at Ash's dogs - under control & 100% safe because they are well trained before they even start protection work. I'm sure that some of the companies selling 'protection dogs' haven't put in any real working/obedience training before they're trained for protection. As someone said before, a loaded shotgun just waiting to go off.

Thing is there aren't that many people selling PP dogs. I can't imagine its a very lucrative business. Even for a crap one you're talking thousands of pounds for the business to first buy the dog, feed the dog, look after the dog and do some training with the dog before you sell it. Thats why we don't offer that service. You'd have to charge ridiculous amounts of money. 10s of thousands of pounds at least. And then you need to train the owners what to do with it. If you want better security there are much cheaper and easier options like CCTV and a bit of pepper spray!

And like someone else said, its not like we live in Bagh-flippin-dad (although it seemed like it during the riots...).

The whole personal protection industry is perplexing to me to be honest. Like I said when I see 'PP' dog it translates to me as 'Pet Pooch'. A PP dog 99% of the time is a companion dog that barks on command or a failed sports/police/security dog where the owner is trying to get some money back for their investment.

My Debut Solo Album on iTunes

The full version of 'This Boy Blind' by Charlie Barnes on Myspace (He's taken his music off iTunes for some reason...)

Shameless plugging...

Thanks. I don't do much music anymore since my life got taken over by dogs. I enjoy dog training a lot more than music making, anyway!
