theres way more around here now. and iv also noticed that a lot of them seen to be cross breeds. i saw a husky cross akita yesterday, it was quite a big dog. and i see a lot of husky cross mal

Sadly i feel they are becoming the new 'status dog' which, as folk have said, means a fair few will end up in rescue or worse such a shame for such good looking dogs,

theres a couple of old huskies on the field where i go they are lovely . they are off lead and so good there owner has had huskies all her life (shes quiet old too !!!) i know of at least one akita thats near us but is kept on a lead (only a pup) . seem to see more and more

I hate seeing such beautiful creatures restrained, I think Akitas will be chucked into this whole sorry mess before too much longer

Good that the huskies own a nice lady that understands them though

Funny you mention Akitas, I am seeing a definite rise of these dogs in my local park....mostly owned by young lads with no clue

I see the local Siberian Huskey Racing Team alot and there are at least 5 others locally but yes there has been a sharp increase in ownership. Funny that schools were mentioned because we saw one every day in it's owners arms (they are cute!) but now it's bigger we never see it but can hear it bark.

Worse I have ever seen was 2 huskies kept outside as guard dogs in Kos of all places in that wicked heat....poor things
