if in full shed it can be done daily with the rake and slicker as they will only remove what is dead anyway

i use 3 different rakes.. depending on how much they are casting

one rake has 3 lines of prongs (great when undercoat is coming out) or (when the girls are blowing their coat before a season) then the other has two lines and the last has one line(good for every day use) ... and of course a comb to finish off ... i also have a rubber brush to take out he static and give a better shine ... but i only use that when i am being extra particular ..

they all adore being brushed and to see who is next pushing and shoving like kids .... so funny!!!

and, i was wondering, how often are you grooming your GSD?
Shepherds moult once a year, for 365 days. Groom them as often as you think they need it.The longer haired ones need it more often than the medium hairs. (There's no such thing aa a short haired Shepherd).
