I must admit I am partial to the odd rant, but only when I know I'm right, which is always. If people think I'm wrong it is they who have made the mistake as I couldn't possibly have been given the correct information in the first place to have formed my response. Not my fault at all.
But I digress, who in their right mind comes up with these ideas for different pieces of unenforceable legislation, probably someone who is extremely sad and hasn't got animals (or friends) and need to justify their own existence on this planet, maybe it is Sarahj's neighbours who have suggested this to try and prove that it is not just Sally they don't like but dogs in general, or their owners, sounds feasable to me!!!!!!
Regards
Ian

I'm sure the people that dream up these new guidelines have no pets, it's easy to pass comment when you think it's just black and white.
Rant away Ian....you'll be in good company..lol

It's an absolute joke! Are they expecting owners to pay this per dog??
Maybe they should introduce these charges to the people who breed dogs without the correct health checks etc and the ones who constantly have badly behaved dogs rather than making us responsible owners foot the bill for everyone else all the time!

My dog's insurance policy (with KC) already covers the damage my dog may cause for up to £1M. My house insurance also covers any accidents (including a dog attack) that may happen on my premisses. I think it's a spiffing idea to make me take out another insurance polisy, after all, I'm not spending enough money on being a responsible dog owner.

I think its per dog yeh, but dont quote me on it.
The funny thing is what makes them think thats the weapon dog owners will pay it anyway.....So wont make a difference to them, only responsible owners would pay, thats if they do make it happen ofcourse

Again I would refer to my earlier response about having kids insured in case they cause any harm, insurance for people just in case they decide to dislike animals and mistreat them, if insurance were in place for this then organisations such as the RSPCA could claim against this insurance and be able to afford to provide better facilities for animals in their care. (yes I keep mentioning kids so no I don't have kids, I'm too selfish and my cats and the dogs have yet to demand a Playstation 3 or the latest trendy mobile phone, and the animals are much cheaper to run)
Regards
Ian

Insurances already carry a liability insurance, it will not affect the people it should affect, just like the DDA, all that will happen is the premiums will go up for the responsible owner,
Befor eveyone gets up in arms about it all, have a good think on ways that it will hit the people who have the ownership of the out of control dogs, dogs used for fighting as this is all that has been in the news today, The owners need to be repremanded, then put it to the home sec, before this other bill comes into play,

I was talking to the dog warden about this the other day when she came to put a chip in Jazz, she didnt think it would ever go through to become law, she said that it could never be Policed in any way,.. the only way she could see it happening would be as a way of simply collecting more money for the Goverment.
Personaly I cant see it happening, and I think its more of a sensational story for the press the revel in for a while, although there are many dangerouse dogs,.. and worse owners out there, there are far more responsible ones,. and various dog associations to fight the corner for responsible dog ownership.... lets hope so

This dog in the pic was proberly barking and not being viscous.
I also noticed that a gsd was not mentioned in the article as one of the dogs that had hurt any of these people. They were all rottys or pit ball type terrier!
So why show a pic of a gsd?
