Gardens

Hello,last week there was a thread about how grass is no good in gardens with dogs.Our garden at the moment is completely pathed but we are moving in the next few weeks and the new garden is smaller and also on a slope,now i was thinking i might use decking as its now on offer at B&Q. My question is do any of you have decking and is it practical for use where dogs are around,any pictures will also be a bonus,thanks.

Hi there, I haven't got decking in my garden but my neighbour did put some in the corner of her garden, she had a GSD at the time and she didn't seem to have any problems, in fact the dog used to lay on it on a sunny day and catch some rays. She did say that if he did anything on it it was a bit of a pig to clean up.

We have lots of wooden decking and grass, the decking isnt a problem for our girl, she lays on it a lot, i think because it gets nice and warm when the sun comes out, will take some piccies over the weekend and show you if its not raining

Brilliant,we have so much to do in the new house,rather than leveling the garden and slabbing it,decking it will be quicker,easier and cleaner. My dogs will only use gravel or concrete to toilet on so they will have there own little toilet area so cleaning the decking will be no problem.
