this has made me mad

A pond 'teeming with wildlife' near a popular walkway should be better protected, say residents.
They claim swans and their young are being attacked on the water at Towyn near Abergele in Conwy.
One said it was heartbreaking to see the six cygnets hatched this year reduced to just one.

I feel very good about myself today because i have started the ball rolling to get something done, evry time I went down to the pond another signet had gone and the poor swans done evrything to protect them, last Year I believe they lost 9 signets , so in a fit of rage I emailed newsline wales and sent them the pictures. update on swans, a lot of activity has been taking place now with lots of people getting involved, but sadly the cruelty is still going on,yesterday the female swan was taken by the rspca to there hospital, because it was covered in diesel oil,and the male and the sygnet was left, well today the sygnet is missing and I was with the rspca rep today looking for it and he thinks it is now dead, the poor male looks as if it is pining, but according to the rspca it will just fly off to some other pond and maybe return when the female is returned to the pond, the police and rspca are trying to find how the swan got covered in diesel oil, probably caused by a deliberate act of cruelty,i have been told that the female has now been washed and seems to be recovering well and hopefully will return sometime next week,

Great news that the swan got the help she needed. How sad that the sygnet is missing.

This is such a sad tale, but just highlights the kind of sick society that we now live in

So glad you felt so passionate about this mum, you know what I am like with my ducks lol..................I hope to god the female is returned soon or the male will leave the nest.

is there any other news on the sygnet ?

Janet it is really sad, because the park and pond is such a lovely place

both swans have now been taken by the rspca and are being housed at the santuary in Nantwich, the signet has not been found, now presumed dead, and because of oil floating on the pond they said they will probably be moved to another pond
