Just to update...My friend complanined to the RSPCA sanctuary about her cat for two reasons
Firstly, she specifically asked for an indoor cat and was given Sally on the basis she has arthritis and cant go out, which turned out to be untrue and she was furious that the cats nails were in such a state and no one even noticed!
Secondly, she paid the adoption fee (£100) which included micro-chipping and vac's then got a letter telling her she needed to pay £20 to activate the microchip! she has said ordinarily she would have been happy to pay the extra after all its a charity but she has had to pay out £60 in vets bills for the fungal infection.
The sanctuary called her today and the manager blamed everyone (apart from herself) and said that the volunteers need to be 're-trained' then wait for it... offered to swap her cat for another one!!!!!!!!
My friend is fuming she told them on the phone this is a cat, a living creature not a jumper she bought in the wrong colour and wants to exchange!
I suggested writing a formal complaint to the veterinary surgery that wrongly diagnosed the cat as arthritic (not an rspca vet but a private vet)
poor old Sally cat has really come out of her shell since she had her claws trimmed and treated she is so playful now, she is like a kitten! her poor feet must have been so sore its no wonder she was such a grumpy cat before!
