My kitty!

My cat Marble was gone for two days, she came back last night and her flea collar was stuck on round her leg and her skin is raw and she has no hair round her 'arm pit' .
She obviously got stuck in something and her normal collar has snapped off (they are both safety collars) but the flea collar didn't snap it just stretched it had all bite marks on it where she was trying to get out of it.

She seems fine in her self (eating, playing and going to the toilet normally) and i don't want to take her to the vet because the last time she went she pulled all her hair out from stress and he advised us to only bring her for vac's and emergencies.

Is there anything i can do to clean it up or to soothe it for her? or should i just take her down to the vet?

I have called the vet and he is going to call me back but that was hours ago and he hasn't called yet. Ill try and get a pic and show you

I must say I'm quite annoyed with the maker of the flea collar the whole idea of the safety collar is that they snap if the cat gets stuck.

vet got back to me at 7.30 (said sorry for leaving it so late!!) and said not to bring her in just yet because she is such a little stress head but to just use warm salt water to clean it and Denes do a soothing antiseptic cream i can use on her.

poor thing the other cats have been cleaning it for her

Yeah salt water in warm water is great, also Hibi-scrub from the Vet.

If you get chance Sarah when you next go to the vet, just ask them if you could have some hibi-scrub. Its very cheap to buy, & its great just to keep in the cupboard for times like this.

If you get an old washing up liquid bottle (one of the concentrate ones), pour about an inch of the hibi scrub in that, & dilute with water. Then you can just dab it on some cotton wool to clean the wound. Its what the Vets use prior to surgery on the animals.

Hope Marble is ok.
