Li'l ole me

Hi everyone,

I found your site on the old t'internet search. My name is Kev and sadly I have just lost Kim (Landeth Koppa), my GSD and best mate of ten years to a Hermangiosarcoma. She was full of beans and character right up to her last few hours and I miss her immensely. I would rather wait til the end of the year to look for another pup but my partner and I have decided that it would be best for our Rottie (the softest dumbest Rottie you will ever see) if she had a new best mate to roll around with and make a general nuisance with.
I'm prety decided on another GSD bitch, they are such beautiful inteligent rascals. Over the next few weeks I'll start some research onto reputable breeders who may have litters ready around septemper time so any help or advice to that end would be appreciated hugely. We are from Warrington near Manchester but are prepared to travel for the right pup/breeder.

I thought I'd post a pic of my beautiful baby Kim and her trouble buddy Sasha

Thanks everyone

Kev S

Hi Kev, I presume you want continental/German lines again, if so look at the other thread asking about breeders, in Wigan you have Parheleon (Tracy) she has german lines, you also have Shotaan not to far from you. The Northwest is known as GSD country so you shouldnt go far wrong, just make sure sire and dam have been hip/elbow xrayed and scored whether under the BVA or SV, also the male as been tested for blood clotting disorders.

Hi Pam/Joanne,

Good to hear I'm in GSD country, will check out the tips you have sent me too. I'm torn between a respectful gap after Kim, but the pup pics are so cute and I don't want Sasha to go downhill on her own so around sept seems about right.

Not too concerned about the german lines (you'll have to excuse my ignorance in not knowing the relevance of this sorry) but definately looking for a pup with a strong character and as we all go on lengthy walks, I suspect thatworkinglines would be better than show lines. Sasha is a big lazy lump if she was allowed so we need some young vitality to gee her up a bit!

Kev
Ps I couldn't resize the pics of Kim and Sasha very well hence the small thumbnails. Bit of a computer thickie really!

So sorry for your huge loss. She was a stuning girl.

I left a couple of months between losing my collie dog and getting our GSD pup and my other collie was like a lost sheep. He followed me everywhere and was just so lonely. Ever since Tess arrived, Jacks been a different dog. He loves her and they have mad moments! She's so protective of him aswell.

Do what you feel is right for you. There is no set time before you should get another dog. Some people will get a new dog straightaway for the distraction.

Hello Kev

Welcome to the forum I am so sorry to hear of your loss, it must be very hard but nice that you still have Sasha. They both look so gorgeous in those pics.

As others have said you will know when the time is right to add to your family

Hi Kev

Welcome to the forum. So sorry for your loss. We got a pup almost straight away, after loosing Zac last year. The house was too empty, and Lucy our lab cross was lost on her own, she didn't know what to do with herself. It was not to replace Zac, it was to fill the void.
