Hello everyone.
I was really pleased to find this site. I am the owner of a rather large and soppy white GSD. It's sad really, after having our beloved border collie put down in Nov 05, we bought Khan (also known as affectionately known as Narna)as an 8 week old pup. Shortly after this part of my spine snapped and I ended up practically on my back for the best part of a year. As a result I never really bonded with him as I had no input at all. Husband trying to look after me, go to work, look after the kids and house unfortunately could not put in the time with a fast growing puplet. Whilst he is great family dog and spends hours a day charging around the garden with the kids he is a nightmare to walk as he pulls on the lead terribly and is very noisy and shall we say rather forward going when he sees another dog ie runs jumps lands flat on top of the westie he has just seen and then can't understand where it's gone when it is spreadeagled on the ground beneath him, embarrasing I can tell you. Having now pretty much recovered I am refusing to believe that he cannot be sorted out so I am hoping to get lots of tips from all of you that may have had similar problems in the past. I have to be very careful if I do walk him as one tug and I am back in the chiropractors with another £50.00 bill for a pulled back. I am currently taking him back to basics and we are spending ages a day just walking round the garden, constantly changing direction, sitting, laying, staying etc, keeping his attention can be challenging. I hope to be posting in the future to say that he has become everything that my lovely border collie was.
Hope you have all had a great day today. Sending dog snogs to all your pooches from Narna.
