Smile New to the breed.

After 20 years showing and breeding Golden retrievers its now my husbands turn for his breed, of course that is sheperds although I will do the training etc for the new ones.

We, hubby and I have ordered 2 pups 7 months apart, bitch first, dog later from different sires and dams but the same bloodline. The pups will be long coats.

I must admit I was staggered to pay 850.00 per pup. 100.00 more cos we will/may breed them!! Is this 'normal'?

Anyway what I really wanted to say was 'hi' and Im looking forward to meeting you all and chatting

Hello

Welcome to the forum. I look forward to seeing and hearing all about your pups and getting to you know too

I have to say I know nothing about breeding so I'll leave it to the others who do to answer your question.

Just to say hello to you, I am new to here as well and know nothing at all about breeding dogs (only children lol). I paid £350 for my dog but he doesnt have papers, i was given a family tree which could have been printed and filled in by anyone. Obviously your pups are from better stock, but i love my zack all the same. happy chatting.

Thanks

Our first pup arrives sometime around Christmas if the bitch comes in season on time and all goes well.
Yeh I know, Christmas! I promise you she isnt a Christmas present, she will stay with us always. Bad time for house training too.

Cheers
Jackie (ishard was my kennel name for Goldens but Im having to think of a new one for the Sheperds as is-hard doesnt go with good natured sheperds) lol

Hi I'm a first timer with GSDs also. We paid £250 for our girl but she has no papers. Although she did come from registered breeders i believe they bred purely for pets. When looking for our darling I was shocked at the prices but from top breeders anything from £700 upwards seems the normal price.

Welcome to the forum, cant wait to see pics of your babies when they arrive!

£850 is excessive average for a dog from dogs and bitches with all health tests and below average results plus clear heamo and show & working qualifications is £650-£750.
Price should be the same whether or not there are endorsements on the pups for breeding or not, again reguardless of sex should be the same.

I paid £400 each for our two. They are both from the same, good working line. Both parents had good hip scores, although we have yet to hip score them yet.

Hope your going to post lots of pics of your pups! Pre warned, if i see them and fall in love, please DO NOT let me buy any! lol
