Mishka is home.
Hi Everyone, Just thought I would tell you that Mishka is now home. Collected on Friday and she is the most amazing puppy ever. She has settled so well and made best friends with my little King Charles although there is no doubt at all she will be the boss!
House training is going like a dream although I am a bit worried that it should'nt be this easy.
I have just found out that I need to get the pond fenced off after she tried to catch the fish this morning and fell in (don't panic, she is never alone outside)
One small concern if anyone can help, she doesn't seem to eat much. She is 9 weeks old and I am feeding her Royal Cain puppy food for GSD, they say she should eat about 270g a day, at the moment she eats 180g this includes what I use in treats for rewards. Is this a problem or will she only eat what she needs?
Any advise would be welcome as I have never had a GSD before (can't think why as they are just the best)
Any way I really am so lucky to have my Mishka.
Jackie

Aww how lovely to have her home, have you got piccies??
I don't think I'd be too bothered about them not eating the amount on the backs of food, does she look and feel ok, ie not too skinny? I found my GSD never over eats and even as a puppy if I put more in his bowl he'd only ever eat the correct amount and leave the rest.

I would agree with LOVEGSD about not being too worried as long as she seems healthy and energetic and generaly ok. my boy also regulates his own intake of food and doesnt really eat a great deal, each dog/pup is different, as long as she is gaining weight as she grows she should be fine.
p.s. yay, glad you've finaly got ur girl home, must be v. excited.

Don't forget the pics!
If she's hungry she'll eat, if she isn't then she won't! The amounts on the packs are guidelines, anyway and each dog digests its food differently - some will need more than others. You might find that if she goes through a sudden growth spurt she'll eat you out of house & home!

Even now Diesel has days where he will eat all his meals and days where he will pick - she will be fine and as long as she is energetic and seems healthy and not off her food at all I wouldn't be too worried x.
