Well, I'm off to the neurologist
So.
I recovered from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, thanks, largely, to Archie.
Unfortunately, I had one remaining problem that may or may not have been related to the CFS, but which I have had for the last six years. On and off.
Attacks of sudden extreme dizziness that leave me pretty much incapacitated. They last 1-3 minutes, and can occur over and over and over again, every five or ten minutes or so, for anywhere up to 12 days. So, they're sort of debilitating, in that I can't walk unassissted when I have them, and I usually have to lean against a wall or get aid from someone else. Even getting up to go to the toilet can be a terrifying experience. As well as the dizziness I get tingling in my left shoulder and side of my neck.
Thankfully, between attacks I usually get at least a few months break, but sometimes I only get one month. One I had nearly three years though. That was a good three years.
Anyway, finally something is being done about it -- not to say that nothing was being done about it before. But we kept getting all these mis-diagnosis. I've been to see a list of different doctors and specialists that is so long I can't count them on my hands and toes. Two paediatritions, two cardiologists, three psychologists, two psychiatrists, physiotherapists... the list goes on.
But I've got my referral letter from my GP, and hopefully soon I'll get that appointment with a neurologist, who might finally know what's wrong with me!
