Gmtv
Did anyone watch GMTV this morning, it's reported that more pedigree dogs are being put into rescue centres because they have been sold a dog they don't understand or it has severe health problems. They were talking about bad breeders, who do it for the money. They want there viewers to wright in with there experiences buying a purebreed dog.
The KC got a right slatting.
I might just give GMTV a call!

GMTV were at Battersea asking why so many pedigree dogs were being dumped, they said last year they had 5000 pedigrees dumped and only 3000mongrols,there was someone from Battersea interviewed and she said the problem was that money grabbing people are breeding puppies with no health checks and not being bred for temperament just to make a fast buck, she said people are buying pups from car boot sales, internet and local papers, she also was trying to get accross to people to only buy from accredited breeders and make sure the parents have all had relevent health checks,
It was terrible they showed some of the dogs, there was a black pug,2 Llasas staffis, german shepherds,as the lady interviwed said if people have a choice they will choose a pedigree above a mongrel,so what chance does the mongrols have

Hi Joanne
It's late, and I have had a drink or two, but i read your threads this afternoon, about puppy farms, and the kennel club, and I think the whole thing is a farce. What is the kennel club there for, if not to protect dogs and owners from unscupulous people. The statistics quoted made me feel physically sick! To think that dogs are brought into this world with such health issues, is diabolical, and my heart goes out to the dogs, and the owners who have to go through the heartache involved. It doesn't bear thnking about!
I have my own issues about the people i bought Barney from, but he is fit and healthy, and that is the important part.
If you need any sort of backup then pm me, and i will give you my contact number, I will give you any support you need.
