Poor little boy, he'll be scarred for life in more ways than one

And I'm sorry but I can't help but feel a teeny bit of relief that it's not a GSD or SBT

Apparently the dogs owner had a puppy on a lead and kids mum was fussing that. No one knows what the kid did to the older dog which was off lead. Not saying it should have done what it did but unsupervised kids poking around strange dogs is an accident waiting to happen. Dog could have got a bit jealous and leapt for attention, anything. Three year old could have tried in his way petting the older dog.
Feel sorry for the child but also sorry for the dog with its stupid owner and stupid mother of kid.
Bet she will watch him in future.
Dog could have been protecting pup as well.
Bloody stupid people

OMG That's awful but unfortunately a reality that happens way to often! I feel sorry for all concerned . The mother who took her eyes off her child! The owner who did the same and never re-acted on time or kept thier dog on lead or under control in a kids park! And the poor dog who for whatever reason acted in this manner . So sad

Catriona xx

Well I just read the article and its terrible...I have only ever been bitten once (thank god) and that was by a black lab at work. It was horrible but its kind of understandable, the vets is scary for all animals...but near a kids play ground?...Its sad and I bet the dogs owner feels terrible about it...all animals can be unpredictable you just can never be 100% sure I guess, no matter how well you think you know your dog...x xx

the article doesn't give many information of what has happened,we don't know if the kid did something to the dog,it's a very sad story..it's true also that this time of the year with the warm weather there are lots of children out and about and all dogs owners should be more careful especially near playgrounds, and parents as well!!For example, one day I popped in the supermarket ,left maya tied up outside,it was only for 5 minutes, well when I came out there was a woman with her toddler who was stroking her,Maya was very good but TBH I wouldn't let my 2 year old walk up to a tied dog to stroke it if the owner is not there ..

Sorry to highjack this thread.....
Very sorry for the dog and boy, I don't know full story
but children should not go near dogs without permission from parent/owner. jmo.
Back to my highjack.
A few years ago I met a lady with a very timid dog.
I asked her if her dog had always been this timid from a puppy.
She told me her dog once was a very friendly dog, until one day she left her outside a shop to pick up her news paper ( 5 mins).
While she was in the shop two lads nearly kicked her dog to death.
Not posting this to scare anyone
Just a warning, there are some beautiful people in this world, but I'm afraid there is also scum.
The scum will take any opportunity to hurt anything.

Poor dogI can't believe there was nobody around to stop those evil people...however if everybody starts to worry too much about stories in the papers or some experience nobody would get out of the house..still is good to be aware of those things..
