The police have confirmed they were in a private car not a police van, had they been in a van they might have stood a chance.

Police HQ is 3 minutes from my house. Have a good mind to go down there and lock the tw@t in his car for 3 hours with no windows open and see how he likes it.
I left Jenson and his mate in the car last night whilst I went in subway. I left the rear windows open, parked in the shade and the windows are tinted. I was still worries about them. When I got back 5 mins later, the smell of dogs in the car was hideous. I don't reckon they'd last an hour.

I hope the officer is prosecuted as what he did is a criminal offence.
Before I left for Australia I saw an advertisement for volunteers to be part of an official organisation that was able to turn up unannounced at the places where Avon and Somerset Police trained and looked after their police dogs and horses.
I think it was set up after the terrible incidents where trainee police dogs were killed due to the brutal training methods.
The positions were advertised in the Evening Post. If I hadn't have been coming to Australia I would have applied for one of those positions.
This terrible incident should be investigated by another force and the idiot who locked them in sent to jail.
