Absolutely disgusting!!! Should be given the maximum punishment - after being shut in a boiling hot car themselves!!!

I've never posted before but I've just read this news story and am upset and absolutely DISGUSTED!! There is no excuse for this! The weather has been SO hot recently there is NO WAY I would leave my boy in the car in these conditions. Very distressed to think of how these dogs must have suffered.

Nice to have you post on here even if it was because of such a horrific story!

I have signed the petition. I am still horrified by this and that the officer has not been suspended.

I think it's absolutely disgusting. Who in their right mind would leave any animals in a car in this heat. Those poor dogs stood no chance. Being a dog handler he should have been highly trained, and I think it's obvious to anyone that these poor dogs should never have been left in the car!
He should be kicked out of the dog section, I hope he feels the guilt for the rest of his life.

And these are supposed to be "Professionals". Huh, so called professionals - I hope he is booted out the force and never ever is allowed animals. No right minded person would even consider leaving an animal in the car these days. Its totally totally ludicrous. They are supposed to know and love their dogs. um...

If I had to go to meetings or be on site I would park the car somewhere safe, leave the air-conditioning on & often pay somone to watch the car for an hour, as you couldnt lock the doors with the A/C on. There is always a way !

This really does upset me, there is absolutley no need for this to happen.
You can get the vehicle altered so the aircon can run whilst you can remove the key, don't ask me the technical stuff cos I haven't a clue lol but our vans have be kitted out and we have a button that when pressed you can remove the key, leaving the engine running but still able to lock the doors. As soon as the handbrake or foot brake is released/touched the engine cuts out so the vehicle can not be driven off. The only thing you have to watch is that the aircon doesn't cut out, so regular checks needed.
