I never gave rawhide bones to any of my dogs.
We have a product called Nyla Bones here, which come in various sizes depending on dog size. As the dog chews and gnaws on the knuckle ends they eventually wear down. At this point I replaced it Anyway the point is my dogs couldn't break or swallow these Nyla Bones. I always ensured I got the appropriate size ( usually wolf size)

ANY chew or treat given to the wrong dog can be tragic in the end. It brings up a good point posting this tho. KNOW your dog. KNOW if your dog chews or gulps. And NEVER leave your dog unsupervized with ANY chew or treat.

Monty loves Pizzles (Bulls willies) They are in most independent pet shops. They are long and thin and some are bigger than others LOL
Anyway they last him quite a long time and they dont smell like pigs ears.
They seem pretty safe but I would never be complacent about any chew.
It keeps him busy for ages x

My first dog (a little spanish cross) used to get rawhide chews - the ones shaped like a boot...I had a few episodes of heart failure when he swallowed the last part whole and then started to choke and regurgitated it back up thank god....
I stopped them altogether after this as i would have had a clue what to do if he hadnt managed to bring it back up...
scary
