Anyway they last him quite a long time and they dont smell like pigs ears.
They seem pretty safe but I would never be complacent about any chew.
It keeps him busy for ages x

They dont seem to have them in the large pet stores... I have looked but they only seem to be in the small independent shops.
Hope you find some!

We will give these rawhide twists to our dogs, but never give a whole one, we cut them in half,.. the packet lasts longer and if they are swallowed too soon there is little chance of them choking on them,.. but we are always with them

I buy mine from a small local pet shop in Worthing. I have also bought them in Christchurch Dorset in a small pet shop ... I think plenty of independent ones do them. I get them individually for about 45p each stick.
I need to get some more as he hasnt had any for a while.

I used to feed raw hide chews every day to my dogs to help with teeth cleaning etc

But ...

My beautiful blue boy - jensen , under went a 5 hour operation to unblock his stomach which had partially twisted due to a raw hide chew lodging his stomachs out sphincter (dont know the technical name sorry), causing his stomach to twist . His spleen had to be removed some of his stomach was reconstructed because the blood supply was cut off and it had started to go black.
He had a blood transfusion from a lovely large collie dog .

We lost him 18 months later because his heart had under gone too much strain, although he was 10 years old so we had a great life with him.

Never again will i feed raw hide chews!!!! I would advise everyone else not to either just because of my experience.

This is why I cut them in half, although mine chew them fairly well, I have known dogs to chew a bit and swallow them almost complete,..I think by cutting them down to size, if they do swallow them before time, they are not too big to do that kind of damage,...and I am only talking about the very thin ones
