Kennel Club/BVA GSD Hip & Elbow Scores The BVA Canine Health Schemes serve to provide dog breeders with the option of testing for certain inherited diseases, to enable them to breed only from dogs which have fewer or no signs of inherited disease and thus help to reduce the incidence of these diseases.

KC Health Test search

The UK kennel club have now added a search facility to their website for HD, ED , eye tests etc.
You need either KC reg no. or stud no.

Hi Marilyn
It is like a lot of other conditions that just get swept under the carpet, I had the last dog to be named Hilpsford Hannibal who was inbred on both Tarquin and Spartacist, they were in the ped numerous times this was what got me interested in bloodlines and genetic traits,
Pam

For those that do not realise the KC Search facility only shows dogs/bitches scored after 1990, you may occasional find one that was scored earlier but this is because the breeder/owner resubmitted them under the new scheme, as it was then.

For those following a thread elsewhere:
V rated Karrie of Gayville KCSB 0003CA BVA Hip Score 8:7

not un-scored as Mad Mel (user name PDB) would have us believe, they need to get their facts straight.
