gloriab has a spectacular aura about
Doggie dress up

I've just been watching This Morning and saw a poor little long haired Jack Russell - had a groom and trim then it was dressed up - in a big sparkly harness (that they;d put on umside down so looked really bulky !) - wait for it ... a BIG floppy Union Jack hat ... and dressy boots. Poor little thing looked bewildered

Would you / have you dressed your pouch up for walks / special ocasions ???

Caryll is a jewel in the rough
The most I've done is put a paper hat on mine for a birthday.

I don't like dressing them up too much.

No I am not a fan of this at all.....I feel the dogs look humiliated when dressed up, what would their doggie friends think??

Agree. It's an extension of dollies, dressing up etc. Humans making dogs into little babies; quite pathetic IMO.

I don't like to see excessively clipped dog topiary either, like pom pom poodley dogs, or those with bobbles / bows in their 'hair'.

Pets at Home, aka Chavs at Home - last time I was in there a couple of girlies with a pug were trying various coats on this thing and taking photos of it. WTF?

Dog jackets which have function are fine. I'm going to get one of those so the dog can carry things in the pockets out on long walks.

*rant over*

I must confess I have dressed both my boys up
BUT before you think bad of me it was at a dog show
The first time was a Jerry Greens charity show where I gressed Kaiser up as a Hot dog, he won first prize and got some food and treats for it.
All the food and treats go to my Local animal rescue The Ark Animal rescue which looks after Dogs cats rats all small animals and chickens ducks ect.
I dressed Troy up as a spider for a halloween dog show and he won first prize getting a bag of food so that went to the Ark also.
So it was for a good cause and the food and treats went to a good cause.
The only other time was when Kaiser has worn a bandana around his neck during our local carnival walk and all the dogs do. The money raised goes to charity.
I do feel bad when I have dressed them up and doubt I wil again for in my defence it was for a good cause
