I've signed. I'd also suggest going on the Animals Australia Facebook page and ask people to sign - I'm going on the ban live exports protest rally on Sunday. Big topic over here as they've resumed
A friend (who used to be a butcher) went to work in an abbatoir and was appalled by the behavoir of staff there who had no compassion and revelled in the torture of the animals. Despite being a butcher for over 20 years he left the industry in disgust. The inspectors who (rarely) came around were subject to abuse, humiliated and had animal parts thrown at them.
I understand the need for abbatoirs but I also recognise the need for a strict policy of no torture or inappropiate behaviour towards the animals.
