Our dogs will walk with their mid backs, or their bum level with my legs.

I know this is not ideal, but all three of my Shepherds are rescue dogs and were taken on at at least 1 year old,..so they were either not walking on a lead at all, or pulling very badly.

So I am happy with their progress they walk slightly forward of me, but they walk on a slack lead,.. which to me is far more important

bonanza1 is on a distinguished road
Difficult for me to answer this as Asbach has only been here a couple of days, at the moment he is nowhere near my legs unless he's trying to trip me up, I'll be polite and say its a work in progress

ive got a working progress one to if im out with duke he walks lovely on his own but when a few of us walk together its a battle of whos in front, and he does try to pull then,i think it may be a dominance thing, i walk duke on a halti and i have more control than if he has lead just on his collar, it makes walking a more pleasurable experience,
