accredited breeders

In principal I agree. BUT "anyone" can pay their money and get this status. Who checks the breeders property, dogs, reasons for breeding, etc, etc., ???? it appears no-one. I know of one such breeder on this web site who has had a litter from a 14 month old bitch who was not hip scored and the father had a high hip score. She applied before this litter was born, but does this make it right, I think not. I know there are breeders out there that deserve to be accredited and well done to them BUT K.C. should visit every applicant before issueing certificates to put on websites to make NOT so good ones look GOOD.

when I read this lol I was nodding at the screen, I 100% agree with what you have said, I really could not recommend a GSD breeder now, because as I have said so many times before if the so called top breeders are using crap dogs; then what chance to us buyers have ?

*would be very interested to know thro pm what breeder on my site has had a litter from a 14mth old*

I agree with you I was looking at a so called 'accredited breeder' in Scotland yesterday and not All health tests were done, yet you have others who dont belong to this scheme and they do hips/elbows heamo etc

Hi GSDOWNER,
Does the threads about hip scores etc and the Vadar dog ring any bells? Myself and Saltash got a bit heated about it all. It was a few months ago. But surprise, surprise that person has not been on this site since. Prob because she was rumbled!!!!!!!!

Yes Wildmoor you are so right.
You only have to look at some breeders websites, who obviously do not know much about the breed but feel the need for a ego trip by saying " I AM AN ACCREDITED BREEDER" . what it should say is look at me I have a certificate that for a few pounds makes me an expert on the breed Ha, Ha,. Its like these new age behavourists that go on one day courses and get an attendance certificate and know all there is to know about dog behavour, when they probably have a dog with problems and hope to sort the mess out that they themselves have caused in the first place!!!!
