GSDOWNER will become famous soon enough
Skyler ? 8 month old male German Shepherd Dog

Skyler is a stunning 8 month old German Shepherd boy with possible Japanese Akita. He was born on 29/06/10. Skyler was purchased as a puppy by a family with 3 young children, however puppies don’t stay small for long and soon Skyler became a big dog and with no guidance or training he was shunted to the back kitchen and garden.

Sadly due to this Skyler has picked up the habit of spinning, while chasing his tail. A trait that’s common with German Shepherds due to stress and boredom. It never fails to amaze me how people get puppies and expect them to just train themselves and then simply dispose of them when the ‘cute’ stage has worn off.

Skyler was very rarely walked and socialised and when he first came to us he was terrified but showed no aggression at all. A few days in and Skyler is just growing in confidence. He has been sharing his walks with other dogs and has been doing really well, he has also lived with a cat. He’s a lovely big pup who is just crying out for someone to come and guide him and most importantly – love him.

Skyler will need an active home, with someone who is willing to give him the time and patience needed after his pathetic start in life. Skyler is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, worm and flea treated.

Oh really? I thought his face looked quite Akita like but maybe it is the extra weight he's carrying.....terrible to have an 8month old that fat

Like Pam, to me he looks like a dark sable working lines GSD. But his eyes don't look like a shep's? Hope someone takes him soon.

take a look at the von den Wilden Rabbits site, I am not on my computor other wise I would post the link which I have in my favourites, there dogs are prodominately West German Work lines which are heavier built than East German, Czech and Slovak worklines, there are many West German dogs both work line and show line that have what is termed as an 'Akita head' but I would say deffinately 100% GSD

He is indeed, looks a bright boy. Someone's going to be very lucky giving him a home. It saddens me when people don't research the breed before buying - people who get pups because 'they've young children' and then can't be arsed / underestimate training Should've got a guinea pig instead.
