GSDOWNER will become famous soon enough
Midnight ? 2-4 year old female German Shepherd Dog

Please meet Midnight and form an orderly queue, this girl is just marvellous. She is a 2 to 4 year old German Shepherd female. A magnificent example of her breed in looks and nature, she is very friendly and loves a fuss, she has long hair and will need regular grooming to keep it in tip top condition. Midnight knows some commands and will be easy to train as she is very intelligent, she loves going for a walk and will need a new home where she will be given plenty of exercise. Midnight gets on well with her male kennel mate and is an easy natured girl. One of the volunteers favourites she will make a wonderful companion.

jackie is on a distinguished road
Oh she looks so lovely, it never ceases to amaze me how many GSD end up needing new homes.
As I said in an earlier thread I am thinking about getting another bundle of trouble, and my first instinct was to get a puppy but then why when there are so many lovely dogs out there needing homes.
Soooo tomorrow morning I have a a home inspection, and a chance for a good chat before I take this any further. (Not sure about the home inspection bit, how posh do you have to be, I mean we live in your average type home with an average garden.Should I be on a mad cleaning spree now? ) Do all the rescue dogs have problems, I am a concerned about aggression as I already have two adorable dogs and they must come first when considering an addition to our family. Grandchildren who are in and out, sleep over all the time. I must be able to trust a new dog like I trust Mishka. But then who is to say a puppy would grow up to be calm and confident.
Any way a good chat with the rescue lady and I am sure she will be able to advise me.
They wouldn't place a dog that I couldn't cope with just to rehome it, would they?

Aw good on you for thinking about a rescue. As for the home check, they just want to ensure your home is dog friendly, your garden's secure and you have the time to devote to a dog so you don't have to be posh

As for behavioural problems, you need to be very honest with exactly what you are looking for with the rescue, they can then match you to the right dog.

Plus the new dog will need to meet your current dogs to ensure they get on.

Good luck and let us know how you get on...xx
