Bonniesmummy is a jewel in the rough
Poor Macy (im so annoyed)

Hi all this is Macy 12 weeks old

Im actually so annoyed and upset about this My friend (well more my big sisters friend, but we are mates too) got this little girly a few weeks ago and is now finding it hard to cope with her... she doesnt know how to train her and hubby is out working most of the time.

I have asked her not to sell her on gumtree as I believe this is NOT the right way to rehome your dog.... some poor babies on there end up as bait for dog fights but I don't know what she is doing tbh.

This sort of thing really upsets me I got Bonnie on a spur of the moment, I didn't do my research 1st and certainly didn't think of the financial side of it either and as you all know pups are hard work there were times when I thought I could not cope, I'd never had a dog before and had no idea how to look after one or train one BUT I LEARNED and I got through it and came out the end of it with my heart filled with so much joy and love. I DIDNT GIVE UP and this is what has gotten to me..... this poor baby is 12 weeks old, she needs love and training to help her to grow into an amzing animal but is'nt being given the chance, dogs like this end up from home to home with bad temperaments due to no training etc and worse case senario used as bait!!!!

I am soooooo tempted to take her! if I could afford it and had the time to train her etc I would in a heart beat.

I'm sad

Oh dear how sad. Is she a beagle? Can't your friend take her to a good rescue / Dogs Trust?

So many don't think it through.. Those that stumble upon dogs like you've done Audrey who give their dogs their hearts, often make the best owners. It's a pity your friend can't see what can be achieved.

Sorry yes she is a Beagle. I have recommened that she take her to a rescue or even to call up her breeder as they may well take her back???

Her hubby really wanted a puppy and one day they decided they were getting one and then came Macy, she didnt even think it through... she did say about a week or so ago that they would be rehoming and then she spoke to a trainer at a BBQ last weekend, he gave her loads of tips and decided to keep her again but now she has changed her mind again

It really is a pity

Aww Honey
I know your sad and so am I tbh.
Looks like a beagle, a friend at training has two girls.
They are very quick learners but a bit nippy.
What a sad story and hope their can be a happy ending

Beagles are known to be hard to train, esp recall but they do make lovely pets. As she's young and sooo cute it should be easy to get her into a decent home I would have thought.

From what Ive read about them they are intellegent BUT they tend to be very easily distracted so training becomes hard work, I wish I had the time ......

She should definitely get in touch with the breeder and see what they say, at least give them the chance to get her back first - before they try anywhere else.

Good breeders would be horrified to know that one of their dogs has ended up in a rescue and the thing is some rescues refuse to let the breeder have the dogs back, even if the breeders offer to take them - one well known national rescue recently put a dog to sleep rather than let the breeder take it back, I know that for a fact.

There are also people around who will buy a 'cute' puppy cheap off the free ads (or 'rescue' it) and then sell it on to anyone who will offer more money for it, regardless of the home it is going to.

Sue
