Tell me about it, I saw a pup for £400 ono and they have to get rid of her cos their other dog doesnt like the pup! I really want her - willing to travel from Essex to Nottingham but everyone thinks its a bad idea cos Jerry Lee is only 7 months old!

Poor puppies

Don't get me started!!!
Emma came back from her walk yesterday where she had met a 4m GSD pup.
Poor thing lives in a concrete garden and on a chain, isn't allowed in the house and sleeps in the ally between two houses!! She told Emma where she lives, Dan and I will walk by tonight on our walk, if we see anything I'll be making a call later!! Dogs should be licensed!!

Why the hell do people have dogs, if they don't want to share their lives with it
I'm sorry sweetheart, if they were licensed, it wouldn't work with the low life.
Years ago when we had our first dogs (30 odd years ago)
we had our dogs licensed, and it was only people like ourselves that did.
So people who care would do the right thing, the others would not.
I don't know the answer, all we can do is look out for these poor babies, and report ANY sign of neglect/cruelty.

Disgusting isn't it.

There's also a lot who have a non-GSD breed and take on a shep, can't cope with the shep so want it rehomed, when they've already got another dog in the home - AND ARE LOOKING AFTER IT. Was doing battle with a person like that recently, trying to get his shep rehomed - he was making it live outside because it was 'difficult' while his other dog was in the house. FFS, when will people research breed before buying

There have been so many around this age turned up on the rescue sites lately. It is a typical case of no training, no input, no responsibility. Then they wonder why the dog has issues or is hard work.
I really don't know the answers, as long as there are people breeding dogs and selling them for next to nothing, there will be idiots who think it's cool to get a GSD for an ego trip.
The laws should be made megga tight on dog ownership, but this country is too soft in all it's legislation and places priority on allowing convicts to have play stations instead.

I hope that gsdr can do something.... It just seems like such a shame!!
If anything, its made me determined that my next dog will be a rescue... I can't rescue them all but if I can save one from a life as a 'throwaway pet' I will feel better I think!

Scrapyards need guard dogs..... Industrial estates need guard dogs..... Police need guard dogs. Your average Joe does not

a sad story but unfortunaley reality and lots of people are taken in by this stuff, you tend to get a lot of puppy farmers and scammers using sites like this to sell dogs or supposedly give them away for free then when peole turn up to pick it up usually at a Mtrway garage they give soem sob story about needing money and the peole who had their heart set on it give them cash!!!!! its hard to do but tese peole need avoided and people ned to stop buying from them then the demand for their badly bread puppies will stop and poorly kept dogs will no longer be needed so this will stop too but we need to educate the masses and its not easy, whenwe get new puppies throught the trainig classes or someone telling us they are buying a puppy we try to find out where they are from and a very large proportion are puppy farmed dogs but people think because its not a farm they have got from a reputable breeder, don't understand theterm puppy farming!!!!!!
