Troy is a 9 month old Black and Tan semi long coated German Shepherd. He has been handed over to the rescue from a family who got him as a pup and have not had the time for him. Troy has been a “garden” dog all his life so far, but he is not suited to this kind of life. He is a very clever 9 month old pup who thinks that now he is a foster home with 3 other German Shepherds, his Christmas has finally arrived. He plays and acts like a 4 month old pup. Troy is a challenge as he is a very large and strong dog, he has never been socialised and so does not know how to greet other dogs.
He lacks any kind of formal training. He knows his sit, but that is about all. He has no idea of how to walk on a lead. He is friendly to people and has lived with young children. He is not cat friendly.
Troy is looking for a home who are prepared to put a lot of time into training him. A family who can cope with his size and strength and a family who may already have a welcoming older dog who will teach him how to behave and will put up with his puppy play. He can be destructive if left for long periods but, this is probablly due to his age, lack of security and guidance. He will be a short term challenge for any new owner but has the makings of an excellent companion in the right home.
