Birds don't need walked, or socialised or given any attention apart from the occasional glance and feeding.

For some people, dogs are just a disposable item and not a living, breathing sentient being
Sadly, those kind of people don't consider it to be a valued companion which means they can find it easy to give up an animal

Poor dog, you can only hope that this little woofer gets a better home...xx

so sad

I agree with all the comments about the wrong people adopting dogs for free and treating them badly, however, i just have to say that we were so lucky to find Lexi and she was advertised free to good home. We were prepared to pay for the right dog and i spent a long time trawling websites. We wanted a rescue dog, but needed to be sure they would be right for us and us right for them. I found the advert by accident and decided to inquire. We travelled a distance and met Lexi on neutral territory, seeing her playing and interacting with us. Her owner, at the time, had a change in circumstances and could no longer give her the attention and space she was used to. After spending time with Lexi and her owner we were lucky enough to be offered Lexi. It was obviously heartbreaking for her owner, but we swapped email addresses and i promised to keep her updated with Lexis progress. I suppose my point is that not all owners who advertise their dogs as free to good home are irresponsible. Just because GSD's command a high price doesn't mean those that pay will treat them any better than those that don't. I know i have waffled on, sorry, but Lexi is the best thing that has happened to us and we may not have been so fortunate if she was offered for sale at a high price.

Would be interesting to know just how many good stories there are about free dogs going to good homes. Hopefully they are in the majority rather than the minority.

Lovely to hear the good side of this though as well, so glad that Lexi landed on her paws with you...x
