Free to a Good Home.....
I've seen a few of these ads kicking about recently and whereas i'd love to scoop them all up and take them all in, i'm not sure my landlord would appreciate that so i try to do the next best thing (when i can bring myself to look through these ads in the first place!) and thats to try and raise awareness of what actually can happen to a dog advertised as free to a good home.
Paul Duxbury from uk-gsr has put this up and i think its great. I will certainly be using it in messages to people, so it aught to be shared, i think!
Free to good home, puppies and bait dogs
Especially in light of what everyone saw happen to likkle ruby, who seems to have become the poster girl for this campaign!

Great idea.
I have also responded to some adverts advising people of the perils of advertising free dogs.
Not being picky, but it should say 'stop it you're killing me' and not 'your'. I blame texting and text talk as being the reason for so many spelling errors these days!

Is it because of the current economic climate, our local paper used to have two or three dogs advertised each week. Just before Christmas there was a half page of dogs for sale and some free to good homes.

There was a story of a Rottweiler o a Staffie who had been rehomed, and less than 24hours later was found dead from fighting wounds
This kind of thing needs to be stopped.

It is so sad.
There has been an advert for 1 Year old Beagle, Free to Committed Owner, Requires Training in the Farmers Guardian newspaper for the past few weeks

Its awful, i'm really having to stop myself but on gumtree alone i can see 4 or 5 adverts for dogs free to 'good' homes.
Getting quite sad now.
Even my neighbour is giving her dog up... lost what little respect i had left for her. Same woman who let an 8 year old on the back of a quad bike with no helmet on and no idea where the brakes were........
Last year's christmas present is now this year's cast off. I'd love to take the dog, but she doesn't react well to Rogue, she hasn't been socialised at all and as a result has no idea how to react with other dogs.
it just makes me sooooo mad!!!!

It is so heartbreaking. I volunteer in rescue, and some of the excuses for giving up a part of the family and a valued companion makes my blood boil
For some people, dogs are just a disposable item and not a living, breathing sentient being
