My Mum's Doggy may need new home...

Sadly due to a drastic change in my mum's living circumstances and finances, her 9 month old female black GSD named Meg may have to be rehomed. This isn't a decision she has considered lightly and is devastated it has come to it.

We both feel that a new home would be the best thing for Meg. My mum and my sister are unsure of where they will be living and this will cause a lot of instability for Meg. Therefore we want her to go to a home where she can be given a good stable routine which will make her much happier. My mum will be unable to provide Meg with what she needs.

She has a lovely temperament, and is house trained. She may need to attend further training however, as she only knows a few of the basics. She hasn't been spayed, and hasn't had her first heat as yet. She recently had a puppy Jack Russel in the house for a few weeks, which she got on well with brilliantly. So evidence shows she is ok with other dogs, but may want introducing slowly. I say this because we recently tried to reunite her with her sister from the same litter (my dog Hannah) and that didn't go so well. We felt this was down to them both being competitive and both girls.

She is a beautiful dog who just needs someone who is able to give her what she needs. I haven't got pictures of her but she looks exactly the same as my dog Hannah.

She is currently based in Milton Keynes.

If anybody knows of anyone who may be interested please let me know. Or if anyone knows of an organisation who is very good at rehoming pets please let me know that too. We really want to make sure she goes to the right person.

Thank you x x x x

Thank you LOVEGSD. Totally wish didn't have to, but we've been thinking that in the end all the upheaval that could last for a good long while yet would just be no good for Meg. Reall want to get her a nice home.

Sorry to read of your Mums sad situation. This is happening to so many people at the moment

Have you contacted her breeder at all? I know my dogs breeder would take them back no matter how old they are.

Well.... I'm not too sure if the breeder would, they were very eager to get rid to be honest. My mum got the 2 dogs and then I had one of them off of her. From what my mum says I don't think they're all too worried once the dog has gone. Didn't give my mum all the things they should have when selling a puppy. So I don't think that they should have them back to be honest. :-(

I think maybe you should contact them at least. They may have people waiting for an older pup on their list you never know.

I had to sign contracts with my breeder to say that if I ever had to rehome then they would be my first point of call. If a breeder didnt offer me this I would walk away. You never know whats around the corner and its nice to know that you have back up if needed.

I hope you can get it sorted.

Karen

I can't begin to imagine how hard a decision this has been and I really admire her for thinking of Meg and not herself....I just hope you find a good home and one that she'll be very happy in, keep us posted.

My mum may be able to keep her. I'm not too sure about the specifics but she's been looking into something that'll mean she can take Meg with her. Her finances are an issue, but she's finding it hard thinking of parting with her. It's still all up in the air. She currently still has her, and hoping to keep it that way.
