A whinge!!!!! And a long one!!!!!
My husband, Richard, and I went to see a white GSD called Crystal a couple of days ago. We live near Tunbridge Wells and Crystal was in an ARC Centre in Essex. Now, as most of you are aware, the M25 is a car park at the best of times and when we went to see Crystal it was no exception. It took us 2.5 hours to get there. (According to Satnav it should take about 1 hour). We basically fell in love with her and wanted to take her there and then but obviously couldn't. Member of staff said to call on Monday if we were still interested which I duly did. I was then told we were number 2 on the list and the first couple were going to have a home visit yesterday.
The problem I have is that we were not told when we went that someone else had been to see her. If i'd have been told then we may not have gone to see her. I also think that the other couple went the day after us and, because they probably live a lot closer, could have a home check a lot easier.
If we had been told then we could have had a look at some other dogs while we were there.

Just to clarify, the member of staff told me we were number 2 on the list when I called yesterday.

Hmm, I would not be happy about that tbh, they should have been upfront with you from the start, because now you've met her and fallen in love!!
Well for what it's worth I hope the other couple fail their home check and you get her after all......if not then I'm sure there's another GSD waiting for you.

Something similar happened to me before I got Jerry Lee. I was fuming at the time BUT I know I got the right dog in the end. I don't often believe in fate but someone, somewhere intervened I think............

How disappointing - with so many dogs in need of good, loving forever homes they should have told you.
I'm sure that there is a gsd out there looking for their forever home.
I have to say that rescuing Harry has been so rewarding.
I would be looking at the urgent ones who are still in pounds and are at risk of being pts.

Found out today the other couple passed the homecheck so they are taking Crystal home. Too be honest, as long as they look after her well then fair enough. Still a bit disappointed though. Oh well!!!
The ARC Centre is in Bishop Stortford.
We've looked on the internet for rescue centres for this area, there are several but many don't seem to have GSD.
