Tyler is a gorgeous 9 year old German Shepherd Dog who is currently in an Oldies Club foster home in Lincolnshire. When Tyler first arrived in rescue he was suffering with separation anxiety, but his foster mum has worked hard to help him overcome this.
This is what she has to say about Tyler;
Tyler is a beautiful boy. He’s very obedient and once settled into his routine he’s quite happy to be left in the house for reasonable periods of time.
He’s very happy living with other dogs, but needs a home without small animals. He’s fine in the car and is always very keen to get in, but he soon settles down for the journey.
When he’s out walking, he’s best on a halti head collar. He has great recall though and is very good off the lead.
Tyler has rather a large passion for tennis balls, he likes you to throw them for him and when he’s decided he’s exercised you enough, he’ll happily lie down and chew the ball until he’s split it in two! He also likes hoarding things – you’ll often find a collection of tennis balls, part tennis balls and chews in his special place in the garden.
Tyler is a very proud German Shepherd Dog so he’ll bark at people outside the house to let them know he lives there, but he just likes to makes a lot of noise. He’d be best suited with people who have had German Shepherd Dog’s or strong-willed dogs before as you need to be firm with him. He responds well to this though.
He’s a great big black bear and everyone who meets him says how stunning he is. His coat is still coming to its best, but he does enjoy being brushed. He’ll make some lucky person a great companion!
Tyler is vaccinated, microchipped and flea and worm treated. He has some arthritis in his hips, but he doesn’t let this stop him and is still very enthusiastic about going for walks.
