Tookey is on a distinguished road
Can you be put in touch with breeder? I just popped the dam and sire's names into the ped database with no results.

Has she been spayed? If not you have to put up not only the cost of getting her done (if that is what you want), but you will also have to go through the stress of it (I hate putting any dog through an operation).

I would also bear in mind that people very rarely tell you the real reason why they are getting rid of a dog (broken ankle's heal), how long have they owned her?

For that price I would want the pedigree papers and be able to register her in my name with the KC. It would be interesting to know how much they paid for her in the first place.

I would also get in touch with the breeder and see if they can throw any light on the situation - or find out if they are even interested.

I took on a bitch (she was free), she was a year old and they had her for 6 months. I knew the breeder - she was actually litter sister to my bitch. The breeder had kept her back until the age of 6 months as she was the best in the litter. They just said they wanted to rehome her as she was too much trouble and the wife did not like her.

She was a mess. It took me two years to sort her out mentally and physically. That taught me just how much damage people can cause to a dog in such a short time.

It may be that they are genuine and she might well be the perfect dog for you, but be prepared if she is not.

Would you not rather go and get a puppy of your choice? At least then you can pick the breeder and get a pup that you choose and it will probably not cost you much more. You will also know that the pup has been reared the way you want it and has no hang ups.

If you do go and see her - remember go with your head and not your heart!!

Sue

Just found this:

Mollys Lad - Standardbred Stallion at Stud

Seems like he breeds horses as well.

Poly is a jewel in the rough
Just to add in....

Often Breeders (good ones!) will want to know if for any reason their puppy buyers can no longer keep the dog...and may request it be returned to them to find a suitable home....- so as others have said might be worth contacting them first...

I would also want to know why out of 4 dogs are they rehoming this particular girlie...
