Sadly, just over a month ago, we lost our beloved German Shepard X, Molly. Only 8 years old.
Here is my public album on Facebook,

She had been diagnosed a couple of months previously with MMM, although we now believe the vet made a mistake.
A year before she had a tumour on her underside removed and we were told it was not going to spread. However, we now believe she had further tumours inside and a brain tumour. She sadly had a terrible seizure on her last night, completely out of the blue. She was as normal as ever up to that.
After rushing her to the local hospital, she died in my arms while being put to sleep.
She had a pretty bad start in life as a pup and we adopted her at 8 months old from a UK rescue kennel. Her previous owner, we think, had bought her for all the wrong reasons. You know what happens, people see a cute pup and adopt it, without considering their responsibility for the animal or the fact it won't be a cute pup forever (of course a cute dog!).
The end result meant she was discarded, but thankfully we adopted her.
She had quite a few social problems, some of which she never got over. It seems to me her owner had kept her inside, all the time. Not socializing her or letting her see the world. She did not know of anything in the world, it made her so scared she would shake. Nor at 8 months had she been toilet trained. She couldn't even be left on her own at all.
Of course, we toilet trained her. Although it was an effort, lol. We also eventually trained her to be on her own, but this actually took years. So deep was her problem. We also, bit by bit, socialized her so she could eventually walk down a crowded high street without fear.
Having decided to move to Denmark, she had to come with us. Even though it cost more for her transport here, than mine!
We ended up with one of the most loving dogs and who had a lovely big farmhouse garden to play in.
She's gone now to the Rainbow Bridge.
Be happy and free and keep Freeway and TC company.
